Gowings Christmas
Christmas tastes better when someone else does the heavy lifting.
With us? Just show up, sit down and let the day unfold in all its delicious glory (and a cheeky glass of Champagne, surely). Think shared plates, the mood dialled high, flavours turned up, stress turned off. Just the way Christmas Day should be.
We start strong: warm focaccia, trout that’s been smoked, oysters snapped awake with finger lime and roe. The sort of first act that sets the tone fast, we didn’t come to be modest.
Entrees lean into summer. King prawns with citrus mayo and crisp cos. Burrata draped in fennel marmalata and zucchini. Bresaola with figs and goat’s curd.
Mains keep the generosity rolling. Slow‑cooked turkey with pumpkin agro dolce. Barramundi with asparagus, mash and caviar sauce (wouldn’t be a Gowing Christmas without caviar). Pressed lamb shoulder with cauliflower and caper herb sauce. The festive favourites, only upgraded.
Duck fat chat potatoes do their usual damage (and we’re not mad about it). Seasonal leaves for anyone pretending balance is part of the plan.
Dessert closes the loop: Italian pavlova stacked with passionfruit crema, mango and caramel. Plus, the Gowings Christmas gingerbread, the finale that behaves about as well as we do.
Christmas Day is for indulging and we’re here to make that decision very, very easy.
